New management team sold on Burnham owners' vision for club

New management team Ben Murray and Kavi Luchowa were sold on the Burnham owner's vision for the club when they agreed to take over from Manny Williams in the Blues' dugout last month.

It's been a mixed season on the field for Burnham, with the club having toiled in the lower half of the Combined Counties Premier Division North for much of the campaign.

However, a spell of positives results under Williams, and an unbeaten start to Murray and Luchowa's tenure in charge has lifted the Blues to 12th ahead of Saturday's trip to Spelthorne Sports.

They also enjoyed an encouraging 4-1 friendly win over Windsor - the team just above them in the table - on Saturday so things are certainly looking up for the club.

Murray has plenty of experience in the non-league game from his time with Ashford Town, Northwood, and Farnham, while Luchowa has spent the past few years in America, coaching University football teams.

Luchowa said: “The owners are fantastic - Glenn (Skivington) and Nas (Bashir).

“They are two great guys and they’ve got a great vision for the club.

“They want to do things the right way which is nice.

“The facilities are fantastic and it’s a really good place to be.”

“Before this, I spent the last five or six years out in America coaching University football. And before that, I knew of Ben and knew a few other footballing contacts around here so it’s nice to be back and coaching at a very, very good club.”

On the club's immediate prospects this season, Luchowa added: “Table-wise, since we’ve come in, we’ve put together our own mini-table. We’ve got a target for ourselves and where we want to be in that league table. Hopefully that sees us climbs a few places in the actual league table.”
