The 42nd annual Marlow mini rugby tournament has been cancelled.
The tournament, which attracts junior teams from across the area for an afternoon of competitive matches, will not go ahead because of the weekend's predicted snow and freezing temperatures.
The pitches at Marlow Rugby Club in Riverwoods Drive, where the tournament was due to be held, are waterlogged.
The decision was not taken lightly by organiser Tim Platt who holds concerns over health and safety.
He said: "We felt it was important to make an early call because the absolute worse case scenario for everybody involved would be if we had to abandon it halfway through because the children were starting to get hypothermia."
Next year's tournament will be held a week later on Sunday, March 30, 2014.
