Guildford Flames 4, Slough Jets 0

Post-festive cheer was in short supply as Slough Jets lost 4-0 on the road at Guildford Flames on Sunday to complete a miserable, and pointless, weekend of matches.

The Flames, second in the league with 49 points, took the lead through Andrew Hemmings on 2.07, and Tom Dugga made it 2-0 on 8.15.

A more resilient Jets ensured the second period passed with no further score, but David Savage scored the Flames’ third 3.06 minutes into the final period, and Andrew Sharp completed another heavy defeat with the fourth on 58.58.

Slough Jets 2, Telford Tigers 8

The Jets returned to action following their winter break, but perhaps wished they hadn’t as they were thrashed 8-2 by the Telford Tigers at The Hangar on Saturday.

Telford took the lead and never relinquished it when Jaroslav Kruzik scored the opener on a powerplay on 6.08.

That strike was followed by further first period goals for Miika Kiviranta on 11.30 and Nathan Salem on 12.52.

The visitors raced away with the contest in the second period with Callum Bowley netting on 22.27, before Andrius Kaminskas pulled a goal back on 24.04.

Telford restored their four-goal cushion when Michal Pavlu scored on 24.43 and powerplay strikes from Timo Kuuluvainen on 29.18, and Joe Miller on 31.06, made it 7-1, before Kamil Tvrdek scored a consolation to make it 2-7 heading into the second break.

The Jets improved in the final period but conceded the only goal when Bowley netted his second of the evening on a powerplay on 40.38, and the home side mustered just one shot in the final 8.43.
