Slough Jets head coach CraigMoran has announced the signing of the promising young Croatian netminder Andrej Vasiljevi.
Vasiljevi, who stands 6ft tall and weighs 181lbs, has joined from the KHLside Medvescak Zagreb, having played and trained alongside elite players from one of the world's best ice hockey leagues.
The 20-year-old has represented Croatia at both u18s and u20s level, and been a regular in goal for Medvescak Zagreb and Medvescak Zagreb II since 2009/10.
Moran said: “He comes highly recommended to us as an outstanding prospect.
“He is a young goalie, fit and agile and highly skilled. I’m proud that we have managed to attract a goalie from the KHL to the Jets. He will have trained with some of the very best prospects; players currently in the NHL and players destined for the NHL and that will have helped to make him an excellent young netminder.
“He’s in the country now and we are rushing through his registration to try and get him registered to play this weekend.”
