Slough Jets head coach Craig Moran has added toughened up his squad with the signing of 6ft 3in London-born Brad Watchorn.

The versatile utility player is equally at home playing forward or defence and his penalty minutes prove he is not shy in stepping forward to add physicality to the game when needed.

Now 24 years old Watchorn learned his hockey at the Hive and even at under 19 level proved he was a physical force to be reckoned with.

In 2005/06 he played 18 Under 19 games, six ENL games and made his senior debut with 4+1 from 20 appearances for the Bracknell Bees.

In 2006/07 he took his game to Canada playing with Richmond Hill Rams in the GMHL and returned to the UK in 2007/08 signing back with Bracknell Bees.

He made 14 appearances at the Hive together with one appearance with the Bison, then in the EIHL. 2008-09 he made his way to the Isle of Wight for a year with the Wightlink Raiders before returning to Berkshire for the following season.

Watchorn started this season at Bracknell.

Moran said of his signing: "I’m very happy that Brad is coming in. He can play both defence and forward and also brings some toughness to the team.

"When Brad talked to me about coming to Slough I didn't even have to think about it, I know he is one of the players that teams hate playing against, but will be a fans’ favourite here at the Hangar in no time."

Watchorn said: "I’m really looking forward to a new start playing at Slough.

"I plan to make an instant impact and can't wait to don the Jets jersey against Sheffield on Saturday (today).

"I already know a few of the guys so should be a great second half of the season."

The Jets host Sheffield Steeldogs today (pushback 6.30pm) and then head to Manchester Phoenix on Sunday.
