The feelgood factor from Saturday’s win over the Peterborough Phantoms didn’t last as the Jets lost at the Bracknell Bees on Sunday.

Ivan Antonov put the Bees ahead after 8.24 and doubled the hosts’ lead with his second of the night on 14.13.

The game was effectively put to bed when Shaun Thompson netted on 26.17, but the Bees had not reckoned on a remarkable Jets’ comeback.

Matt Towalski (pictured) pulled a goal back on 27.50, Kamil Tvrdek made it 3-2 37 seconds later and Ales Padelek scored an unlikely equaliser with a shorthand strike on 29.19. But the revival didn’t last and a change in momentum, with Mindy Kieras off the ice serving a penalty, saw Pavel Strycek put the Bees 4-2 ahead on 30.53, while goals from Scott Spearing on 36.32 and Thompson on 40 minutes finished off the Jets’ challenge. For good measure Ollie Bronniman scored a seventh for the Bees in a tight final period with 3.12 left on the clock.

Slough Jets 6, P’borough Phantoms 2

The Jets settled some scores with former coach Slava Koulikov as the hosts claimed an impressive win over Peterborough Phantoms on Saturday.

Koulikov left the Jets to take over at the Phan- toms following Slough’s difficult start to the campaign, but the hosts left their former coach shell-shocked by racing into a 5-0 lead.

Head coach Craig Moran was also delighted with the debut contribution of netminder Joe Myers, who saved nine shots in the first period.

Ales Padelek put the hosts ahead from Jamie Line’s assist on 5.43 and Kamil Tvrdek notched their second from a Ryan Webb pass on 9.11 to make it 2-0.

Slough dominated the middle period with excellent goals from Sam Waller on 26.29, Padelek on 29.21 and Alan Lack on 30.55.

Danny Wood and former Jets’ player Darius Pliskauskas gave the Phantoms brief hope of a comeback, but that was extinguished when Tvrdek completed the scoring.
