A change in the law meant a change of plans for Lauren Parker, 29 and Annabelle Lynn, 23.
The two had already planned their civil partnership ceremony to take place on Saturday at Ascot wedding venue Northcote House in Sunningdale Park.
Then they heard about the change in the law that would allow gay marriage from midnight on that same day.
Lauren said: "We decided to change our plans and make it a wedding instead."
So the couple, who actually live in Tring, Hertfordshire, became the stars of the first gay wedding in the Royal Borough.
Annabelle is a car sales executive and Lauren works as a swimming instructor.
They met when they were both teaching swimming at the same pool and are planning to use the joint surname Parker-Lynn.
