In the first race tonight our excellent apprentice Rob Hornby rides Generalyse for trainer Anabel Murphy. The horse has been very consistent and is drawn well and is coming here in good form following his second last month.
Richard Hughes’s Curve Ball in the second could have a winning opportunity tonight. He ran in a very strong maiden at Newbury in June only finishing in twelfth however, he improved a lot for to finish in second at Newmarket two weeks ago. Hughsie as a jockey was also a Windsor specialist and knows the track well and what it takes to win there and I feel tonight could be the horse’s night.
We have Wensara Dream in the third. She was fourth on her only start at Salisbury last month and I hope she could be placed this evening. The one to beat is William Haggas’s Sirajiah, she has been second on all her starts and I believe has been unlucky rather than un-genuine and this race could be the one where she breaks this trend.
I like Richard Hannon’s Nibras Bounty in the fourth. He impressively won a maiden at Newmarket earlier in the season. He then subsequently has had some stiff assignments but is now well handicapped and runs tonight off a reasonable mark.
Our old friend Prendergast Hill has never run worse than fourth in his four starts at Windsor. He clearly likes this track and I am putting him up again this evening in the fifth race. Josephine Gordon rides and should give good value with her claim of three pounds off the horse’s back.
Ralph Beckett’s Cosmic Storm only ran yesterday, but if she runs tonight will be my pick in the last. Eve Johnson-Houghton horses are on tremendous form to and she saddles Reaver, he is likely to be the favourite but would be my other pick in this race.
Have a great Monday night.
Andrew.
